We’re Terry and Michelle Collins, 40 years married, we have two grown daughters, and they have blessed us with 4 grandchildren.
We have a close relationship with our babies, and love living in Queensland, where our family has now spread.
Our careers have always centered around Administration, Accounting, Finance, Health, Safety and Hygiene and we bring these life skills to our operation of Quality Practice Child Care.
We have 30 years of team-work together in our own businesses, and 20 years of that were directly involved in Child Care Management Practice and consultation. So now, we bring you our new model of Child Care, 2019 version, working into today’s needs of families, government Child Care Subsidy changes, and educational pressure and advancements for all.
We are caring, experienced, previous Child Care owners, having designed, built, operated and associated with a few Child Care facilities on the Central Coast of NSW. Follyfoot Farm Child Care at Fountaindale, Daffy Down Dilly Early Learning Centre at Morisset, and other places in Redhead, Blue Haven, Tuggerah and Budgewoi.
Meet our Family
Queensland is a very large state, and we travel to visit with Kristie, Morgan and Brady, as they live far away from us.
I was lucky enough to help deliver Brady at his birth.
I was the first of the family to see him and welcome him into our family. He doesn’t remember my tears of joy, and anxiety at the very task, of course – his favourite now, is Grumpy. Hmmm.. I’ll work on that! Grandmas’ rule!!!
But, of course, we’re not alone!!
Together with Tracey Yeomans, our very good friend and working colleague of 20 something years, we have built a reputation for strong leadership skills, and excellent innovative, visionary Education and Care of young children.
Tracey is our Director/Nominated Supervisor, Educational Leader and guru of all things Early Years. Tracey will guide our team to provide an educational curriculum appropriately designed for children up to age 12.
Hi, I am Tracey and have had the pleasure to choose a career from leaving school that I am still passionate about 28 years later.
It is a pleasure and honour to work with young children and their families with a strong focus on connections and relationships to ensure that we are working together to support not only your children but also with families and the wider community.
For the past 28 years I have worked in many areas of Early Education and Care including Long Day Care, Family Day Care, OOSH as well as training and assessment (Certificate 111 and Diploma students) With many endeavours to list here I thoroughly enjoy meeting new families and children and seeing the changes and growth that they experience over a period of time at the centre.
I am married to Jason (a very hardworking, supportive and patient husband) and we have one daughter together, Abbey who is “nearly 12” if you ask her. She has grown up being a part of the industry with me and soon becomes part of the family. I also am blessed to have three step children and three grandchildren who all live in QLD that we are very close to and see as often as we can. Family is very important to us, as are friends.
I am passionate about early Childhood and ensure that I surround myself with a passionate and energetic team with similar drive and passion as myself. I love guiding staff and work with them to ensure a safe, happy and fun learning environment for all children. I love to challenge the team to be better each and every day and build on their talents and ensure that they never stay in one place for too long.
Children are fun, children are clever, children are unique and I love to ensure that each child feels comfortable and secure in their care environment. That they build long lasting relationships with their educators and with peers and they feel safe and secure (a sense of belonging)
Families are always respected and heard when I am leading a team. Your opinions matter and there is always time for you to talk to me and hear your stories.
I look forward to meeting many new families (and hopefully some familiar ones as well). Living and working on the Central Coast almost all my life has allowed me to build a wonderful foundation and comfort here. My door is always open at Angel Zoo.
To have the opportunity to work alongside Michelle and Terry again is a pleasure and honour. From a long standing working relationship at Follyfoot Farm I am proud to call them family and take on this adventure with so much passion and energy. It is an exciting time for us all.
